Sajakiri featuring SuperStars

Beside SajakirInterview, I have an intention to features variety of artist to sing with Sajakiri. Sort of like "Wings & Superfriends". What I love about this idea is I not 'obliged' to arrange my composition 'according' to other producer. For example, this song: 


I wrote the song, but it was produced by someone else. This was fine arrangement, but definetely not my 'cup of tea'. It lacked'rock' essence. 

Probabaly I will start with my dear friend, Farah Asyikin, with her favourite, Rahsia. Rather than "Rahsia by Farah Asyikin", it will be "Rahsia by Sajakiri feat Farah Asyikin". Coolness. This is another way of branding strategy for Sajakiri, to become a prominent music entity in Malaysia, one day Insyallah.

Dont get me wrong, the vocalist is still Muhsin. This is special project, and will not happen often. Only when time feels right. It is just for my creative endavour and curiosity.

Before I met Muhsin, this is "THE" idea. Just features variety of singers. But think about it again, this is rather 'tiring'. It's good for a special project. But not for 'long term'.

Our first show



Otam & Friends 
Otam invited us to perform at Senyap Hub in Extreme Park Shah Alam, together with Muhsin, Dede (bassist), his wife Fani (keybord) amd Wan (drum). We performed "Tinggal Rangka", "Bidadari", "Darah" & "Surihani". It was last minute call from Otam, 2 days before the event. Luckily we have been jamming for the past 3 months. We were still not 100% tight, but we progressing well. Hope this was a good start for Sajakiri.

Taking over Pulau Ilmu

Last Saturday, Azizul & Hafizul came to my house to discuss about taking over Pulau Ilmu in Subang Perdana. Azizul, currently owns 100% of the share (for secondary), willing to divide 3 of his share among us.With reasonably good price. Initially we've planned to buy over the other branch of Pulau Ilmu in Subang 2, but Azizul convinced us to buy the one at the Subang Perdana.

He said the advantage is:-

  • we have our own students already (nearly 100 students), as 3 of us currently teaching there.
  • Pulau Ilmu brand name is widely recognised in the Subang Perdana area.
  • we've a reliable clerk/assistant, Puan Lin.
  • the infrastructure( desks, chairs, air-con, whiteboard) was readily available and in good condition.

The disadvantage:
  • we couldn't brand our self 'Science & Math Intitute' as we've planned to at his moment, as we will stick to Pulau Ilmu brand name.
  • our control stake is NOT 100%, since another half owned by Primary side (we are in Secondary side)
  • the mentally and attitude of the 'some' of the students, since most of them are from the same nearby school, SMK Subang (I shall not disclosed the detail here.


Nonetheless, we had a discussion about how to solve each problem, and we have our own plan of how to brand our self as a "Science & Math" tuition centre, under the name of Pulau Ilmu.

Personally to me, I can see how we can work 'synergically' and 'symbiotically' to manage the centre. It's a long way journey, but I belief we are the 'right people' to handle it, since all 3 of us are really passionate about teaching. We will still have a lot to learn managing the business, but I feel great to be part of this team. Got to start finalise my own module soon, and next meeting we will discuss about our 'packaging'.

Sekali seminggu, atau 2 kali seminggu

Di sini dapat membuat kesimpulan yang nyata, rata-ratanya buat kelas 2 kali seminggu 4 kali lebih menarik daripada 1 kali seminggu. Terimakasih kepada mereka yang sudi mengundi.

Walaupun keputusannya agak 'firm', masih ada keraguan dalam diri ini. Memang, adalah terlalu 'obvious' 2 kali seminggu lebih menarik. Tapi, bagaimana jika diaplikasikan dalam dunia nyata? Adakah pelajar sanggup datang 2 kali seminggu untuk kelas AddMath? Aku sendiri tak pasti.

Pro kepada kelas 2 kali seminggu
  • Dari segi bisnes, ini tentunya memberi kelebihan dalam persaingan (competitive edge), kerana ia lebih 'nilai' kepada pelajar (harga sama dengan pusat tuisyen yang lain, tapi lebih kelas).
  • Hanya fokus kepada mereka yang minat dan komited saja. Mereka yang malas, atau terasa 'sudah pandai', secara automatik tidak berminat menyertai kelas ini.
  • Pembelajaran menjadi lebih pantas dan jitu (solid), dan Insyallah menjamin keputusan peperiksaan yang lebih baik.
  • Aku sebagai cikgu lebih berpuas hati dalam mencurah ilmu dengan lebih dalam dan kepada mereka yang berminat sahaja.

Kontra kepada kelas 2 kali seminggu
  • Kelas mungkin tidak terlalu ramai, berbanding kelas tuisyen yang lain, kerana masalah komitmen tadi.
  • Kurang ekonomikal kepada guru, kerana 2 kali kerja, tapi dapat bayaran 'sekali' sahaja.
  • Ibubapa mungkin rasa terbeban menghantar anak mereka 2 kali seminggu untuk subjek yang sama (walaupun untuk topik yang berlainan)
Reflek kembali, bukan semua subjek boleh dibuat  sebegini. Hanya AddMath. Kerana ia subjek sukar tapi penting. Entahlah.
